The Shenendehowa Adult Community Center has announced the following summer events:

GREG NAZARIAN’S DANCE BAND

On the second Saturday of every month Greg Nazarian holds a dance at the Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park.  The next dance will be Saturday, June 9th at 7 pm.  The cost is $8 per person, $5 for members of the Center.  Proof of membership is required to receive the discount.  Come and enjoy this wonderful evening of dancing and entertainment.  This event is open to the public.

BRIAN ZAPEL DANCE

On the last Sunday of every month Brian Zapel holds a dance at the Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park.  The next dance will be Sunday, June 24th at 7 pm.  The cost is $5 per person at the door.  Come and enjoy this wonderful evening of dancing and entertainment.  This event is open to the public.

SUMMER BBQ & TALENT SHOW

On June 28th at 12 pm the Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park, will be holding their annual Summer BBQ Luncheon.  This year the event will be catered by PJ’s Bar-B-QSA.  Immediately after we will be holding our Senior Talent Show.  This is sure to be a fun event with great food and entertainment, so sign up today!  For more information on how to get tickets, contact the Center at 383-1343.  This event is open to the public.

VISION HEALTH INFORMATION DAY

On June 7th, at 10 am, the Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park, will be hosting Cheryl Lawyer from the Northeastern Association of the Blind as she gives a presentation on NABA, the definition of low vision, four leading causes of vision loss, early warning signs, and more!  Dr. Elsohn, Ophthalmologist, will be speaking on age related macular degeneration, research, and treatment options.  Ms. Lawyer will also bring a well-mannered guide dog and discuss the uses of a guide dog and how they are trained.  Refreshments will be served and a question and answer session will take place.  This is a once a year opportunity to have free access to vision experts so save this date on your calendars.  You must register ahead of time for this event, so please contact 383-1343 for more information.  This event is free and open to the public.

JULY 4th SALES ON THE COMMON

Will you be at the Clifton Park Common for July 4th?  If so, be sure to stop by the vendor tables hosted by the Shenendehowa Adult Community Center!  We will be selling hot dogs, chips, drinks, ice cream, and other goodies sure to make your July 4th an enjoyable one.  While there, be sure to ask our representatives about the Center and what wonderful programs we have to offer.  For more information, or if you would like to volunteer with us for that day, please contact the Center at 383-1343.

TEA & BINGO

On July 25th, Shenendehowa High School students will host a special Tea & Bingo game from 10 am to 11:30 am at the Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park.  Refreshments will be served and prizes will be awarded.  Come for a delicious cup of tea or coffee, some tasty goodies and a fun game of Bingo.  Bring your friends and enjoy this special time.  Contact the Center at 383-1343 for more information.  The deadline to register for this event is July 23rd.  This event is free and open to the public.

CENTER HOSTS DAY TRIPS

The Shenendehowa Adult Community Center invites you to join us on two upcoming bus trips.  The first is on July 18th to the Delaware & Ulster Railroad Trip on the Rip Van Winkle Flyer. A gourmet lunch will be served.  This journey will take us back in time!!  The second trip will be on August 15th to the MacHayden Theatre to see Barry Manilow's COPACABANA hit song come to life.
