News

A Saratoga County contractor could be heading to prison after he's accused of scamming not only his workers, but the government, too.

Jason Rich faces hundreds of charges. In all, he's accused of scamming his employees out of $1 million prosecutors say $300,000 of that was from forged payroll statements and failing to pay his workers the required wage.

Seven hundred thousand was in travel time and loading work that was allegedly never paid.

Prosecutors say Rich took the money while employing carpet tile installers on 30 public work projects from Saratoga County to Oswego County.

If convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison.
