Albany police warn homeowners of scam
ALBANY - Albany police are warning homeowners of a scam involving men claiming they're from the Water Department.
Police say two men went to a house on Marion Avenue last Tuesday, pretending to be water department workers.
The men were let in and began searching the house. Police say the men left when asked, and nothing was stolen.
Police say this is a similar incident in Clifton Park. A man pretending to be a municipal worker was let in the house.
The homeowners say some of their jewelry was stolen.
